In the world of automation and remote monitoring, there is no room for compromise. The system has to work faultlessly, whether you are measuring parameters in an underground heating chamber or taking care to maintain the right microclimate in an archive with legal, medical or historical records. Inventia’s MT-058 is a self-contained, battery-operated, IP68-rated telemetry module that has been designed to operate in harsh and inaccessible environments, such as heating chambers, water supply wells, measurement points without access to power or zones requiring stable climatic conditions.
Summer is a time of modernisation for district heating network operators, making it an ideal season to implement new solutions and upgrade systems. One important activity during this period is the metering of heat chambers – places that are difficult to access and usually without mains power. This is where the MT-058 is ideal, with its battery power supply and sensors:
Utilising NB-IoT and LTE-M, the MT-058 runs for years without battery replacement. There is also a solar power option – ideal for locations completely devoid of infrastructure.
Furthermore, the solution meets the requirements of the NIS2 cyber security directive, making it suitable for critical applications where data transmission and protection are fundamental. Collected data can be integrated with other systems and transmitted in parallel to external platforms, providing flexibility in the design of the entire measurement infrastructure.

Archives have completely different requirements. It’s not just a question of the convenience of document storage – it’s a legal obligation and an information security standard. The MT-058 module supports the maintenance of compliance with:
Thanks to integration with humidity and temperature sensors and cyclical data reporting, the MT-058:
Combined with the DataPortal platform, the MT-058 allows real-time access to data, making it available to different users with assigned permissions, trend analysis and the creation of aggregated reports. This not only saves resources, but really improves the quality of surveillance.

The battery life of the MT-058 depends on the configuration and operating conditions. As standard, the unit can run for up to 5 years on the internal battery. With the optional lithium battery, the operating time can extend up to 10 years. Additionally, it is possible to power the unit from an external source, such as a battery charged by a solar panel.
The MT-058 does not require mains power and can be easily installed in hard-to-reach areas. Thanks to its compact IP68-rated housing, the unit is resistant to harsh environmental conditions. Set-up and commissioning are straightforward, and the module itself is ready for use immediately after installation and activation.
The MT-058 uses NB-IoT and LTE-M technologies, which offer better signal penetration in difficult environments such as manholes, basements and technical ducts. However, the device requires the presence of NB-IoT or LTE-M network coverage to transmit data. In areas completely devoid of mobile network coverage, data transmission will not be possible, although the device can still record data locally, which will be transmitted once the connection is recovered.
Yes. Inventia provides the necessary software which, through the use of standardised communication mechanisms, enables the devices to be integrated with a variety of data presentation and analysis and reporting systems. The software communicates with the devices and makes current data available via a standard OPC interface. In the case of historical data, it is possible to save it to SQL relational databases using ODBC sources or to save the received data directly to CSV format files.
