MT-058 H v2 is a modern battery-powered telemetry module designed for monitoring, logging and remote data transmission from dispersed infrastructure sites. The device has been designed primarily for use in locations where there is no access to a mains power supply or where connecting to the mains is difficult.
The built-in LTE Cat. M1 / NB-IoT modem ensures energy-efficient data transmission, enabling many years of autonomous operation. A standard set of alkaline batteries allows for operation for up to 5 years, whilst an optional lithium battery pack allows for up to 10 years, depending on the device configuration and operating conditions.
The module is equipped with 5 binary inputs, of which inputs I1–I2 can also function as high-speed counter inputs with a frequency of up to 250 Hz, and 1 analogue input (0–5 V DC) with a resolution of 12 bits. This enables it to interface with, amongst other things, water meters, flow meters, pressure sensors, alarm signals and other measuring devices.
In addition, the MT-058 H v2 features a 1-Wire port, compatible with the DS18B20 temperature sensor, and can optionally also work with a temperature and humidity sensor. An expansion board is also available, increasing the number of inputs by 4 binary inputs, 2 analogue inputs (0–5 V) and 2 PT1000 inputs.
The built-in data logger enables measurement results to be retained even during temporary loss of connectivity. The FLASH memory allows for the storage of up to 20,480 records, and the device can additionally store up to 2,048 MQTT records. Logging can take place at a time resolution of up to 1 second.
MT-058 H v2 HeatSens – a solution for district heating
The MT-058 H v2 HeatSens variant has been designed for remote monitoring of district heating infrastructure and installations requiring temperature control. Support for temperature sensors via 1-Wire, the option to expand with PT1000 inputs, an analogue input for measurement transducers, and an optional adapter for reading data from heat meters allow the module to be used as a standalone component of a monitoring system for district heating nodes and networks.
Thanks to its battery operation, IP68-rated waterproof housing and LTE-M/NB-IoT communication, the device can also be installed in remote, damp locations or areas lacking the telecommunications and power infrastructure typical of conventional telemetry controllers.
